Thompson RCMP respond to firearm and threats call

News release

On July 9, 2024, at approximately 4:40 am, Thompson RCMP received a report from a First Nation Safety Officer, of a male in possession of a firearm and uttering threats in Northlands Denesuline First Nation.

It was reported that a 23-year-old male had threatened an adult female, along with several other community members, and shots had been fired into the air. There were no reported injuries.

The Emergency Response Team was deployed along with Thompson RCMP and the male was taken into custody without incident.

Brent Inglis, 23, of Thompson has been charged with:

Uttering Threats
Forcible Confinement
Careless Use of Firearm
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

He was remanded into custody.
