On May 25, 2024, at approximately 11:55 pm, Thompson RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a business establishment located on Moak Crescent in the City of Thompson.
It was reported that one of the employees had been assaulted followed by a group of five males fighting outside. One of the suspects had been observed brandishing a handgun while threatening other employees. The suspects then entered a vehicle and fled the scene.
The 25-year-old male employee was transported to hospital where he was treated and released.
Officers attended and immediately located the suspect vehicle a short distance away on Nelson Road where a traffic stop was initiated.
Officers arrested the five suspects without incident. A search of the suspects led to the seizure of a large sum of cash but the firearm was not recovered.
The two other males (22, 21) were later released from custody without charge.
Thompson RCMP continue to investigate.
RCMP have charged the following individuals in relation to this incident;
- Delson Acoby, 20, from Winnipeg, with Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Disturbing the Peace and Mischief Under $5000. He was remanded into custody.
- Kash Morris, 18, from Thompson, with Point Firearm, Disturbing the Peace and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was remanded into custody.
- A 22-year-old male, of no fixed address, with Assault, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Disturbing the Peace. He was released for court scheduled August 6, 2024, in Thompson.
The two other males (22, 21) were later released from custody without charge.
Thompson RCMP continue to investigate.
