Update - Steinbach RCMP looking for help to identify injured woman

July 29, 2024
Steinbach, Manitoba

News release

The female has been identified. The RCMP thanks the public and the media for their assistance.

On July 27, 2024, Steinbach RCMP received a report of an unknown woman who had been brought to local hospital. When police arrived at the hospital, it was determined that the adult female had been hitchhiking on Highway 1 by Highway 12 and appeared to be in distress, so a passerby picked her up and took her to the hospital.

The woman was released from the hospital on July 28, 2024, but with no identification and no ability to provide her information to police, there was nowhere she could go. Steinbach RCMP have been housing her, and are hoping the public can assist with identifying her so that she can get the care she needs and either go home or get a placement with a community organization.

If anyone has information on the identity of this adult female, please call Steinbach RCMP at 204-326-4452 Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, or secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
