Ste Rose du Lac RCMP make arrest after firearm discharged

On August 2, 2024, at approximately 7:30 am, Ste Rose du Lac RCMP received a report regarding a male discharging a firearm on Beaulieu Road, in Ebb and Flow First Nation.

RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems all were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, RCMP learned 28-year-old Billy Roulette of Sandy Bay First Nation, had pointed a shotgun at people and held a female captive against her will for five days.

Officers were able to safely take Roulette into custody on a road in the community with live ammunition in his possession.

Billy Roulette was arrested and will faces charges including:

- Forcible Confinement

- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

- Pointing a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm while being Reckless

- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purposes

- Disobeying Order of Court.

He was remanded into custody.
