Ste Rose du Lac RCMP arrest man after attack on community gas supply

On August 5, 2024, at approximately 11:25 pm, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP received a report of an unknown male hitting the large gas tanks in Ebb and Flow First Nation with a pickaxe. These gas tanks supply fuel to the community. The tanks were checked and no spillage was detected.

RCMP officers attended the scene immediately and located a 32-year-old male from the community walking on Highway 278 armed with a pickaxe. He was taken into custody and the pickaxe was seized. When he was searched, a razor blade was located in the male's mouth.

He is facing charges of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Mischief. He has been released from custody.
