Spruce Plains RCMP arrest two suspects involved in robbery and break and enter

On February 8, 2024, at approximately 10:10 pm, Spruce Plains RCMP received a report of a robbery at a business located on Main Street in Neepawa.

Officers responded and were advised that two males, wearing masks and brandishing knives, forced their way into the store and threatened the employee.

The two suspects then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

As officers were conducting patrols in search of the suspects, it was reported that another victim had just been robbed by the two suspects at knifepoint. No injuries were reported.

Patrols were made in the area, but the suspects were not located.

On February 13, Blue Hills RCMP received a report of a Break and Enter at a business in Sprucewoods.

Two male suspects, who were both wearing face masks, were captured on surveillance cameras entering the business where they stole over $2000 worth of merchandise from the store.

The two suspects were later identified and, on February 17, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Neepawa where officers located the stolen items, a face mask and knife.

Upon completion of the search, officers attended to a residence, in the RM of Cornwallis, where a 17-year-old male was arrested for Robbery and taken into police custody. He was later released for court scheduled March 19, in Minnedosa, where he will face charges of Robbery x2, Disguise with Intent x2, Break and Enter and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

On February 20, officers attended to a residence in Brandon where an 18-year-old male was arrested for Robbery and taken into police custody. A search warrant was executed at this residence where stolen items were recovered.

18-year-old Nicholas Genaille, of Brandon, was later released for court scheduled March 19, in Minnedosa where he will face charges of Robbery x2, Disguise with Intent x2, Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose & Uttering Threats.

Spruce Plains RCMP continue to investigate.
