Carberry RCMP investigate theft

On December 7, 2023, Carberry RCMP received a report of a significant theft from the Carberry Curling Club. It was reported that the former treasurer had stolen money over the past year.

The investigation has determined the suspect occupied the volunteer position of treasurer for the Curling Club and within the last year stole approximately $30,000 from the club. The suspect left the position of treasurer of the club and while she was Chief Administrative Officer of the RM of North Cypress-Langford, she used unauthorized funds from the RM to pay back the Curling Club.

A 36-year-old female from Carberry is charged with Theft over $5000. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 4, 2024, in Brandon.
