The Campbellton RCMP is asking for the public's help to identify a person of interest following an attempted theft in Atholville, N.B.
On August 8, 2024, at approximately 3:23 p.m., an individual entered a business on Savoie Street, in Atholville, and filled their shopping cart. While attempting to leave the store without paying, the shopping cart's safety system immobilized one of the wheels, preventing it from going any further. The individual then fled the scene, leaving the shopping cart and its entire content behind.
Police are now releasing surveillance footage photos in hopes that someone may recognize the individual, who is described as a female, average built and height, with black and white braided hair. At the time of the theft, she was wearing a black vest, a grey and orange shirt, black capris pants and black and white shoes. She also has a heart-shaped tattoo on her right ankle.
