RCMP respond to fatal two-vehicle collision

Fatal crash

An individual has died following a single-vehicle crash in Berwick, N.B.

On November 19, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., members of the Sussex RCMP, Millstream Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 10 in Berwick.

The crash is believed to have occurred when a pickup truck, traveling northbound, struck a car, also traveling northbound. The driver and sole occupant of the car, an 85-year-old man from Keirstead Mountain, N.B., died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck sustained what were believed to be minor injuries.

A New Brunswick RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner's Office are assisting with the investigation. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the driver's exact cause of death.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
