RCMP asking for public’s help identifying person of interest following fuel theft

The Chaleur Region RCMP is asking for the public's help identifying a person of interest following a theft of fuel in North-Tetagouche, N.B.

On November 29, 2023, between 12:15 and 12:25 p.m., a man stopped at a business on Route 315 in North-Tetagouche, filled his vehicle with $98.15 worth of fuel, and left without paying.

Through their investigation, police obtained a surveillance video photo of the individual involved. The RCMP is now releasing this photo, and are hoping that information from the public may help identify the person or provide additional information to help the investigation.

The vehicle involved is described as a gray Nissan SUV with a 'Wyatt 226 Strong' sticker on the back window. The vehicle was previously reported as stolen from the Caledonia region. At the time of the fuel theft, the man was wearing a black leather jacket with a hooded sweatshirt underneath, sunglasses and a mask.
