On June 15, 2024, at approximately 12:45 am, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a possible motor vehicle collision on Trenton Avenue, under the Tupper Street Bridge in Portage la Prairie. Officers and Emergency Medical Services responded, but the male was not found at the reported location. First responders continued to search and located a severely injured 25-year-old male sitting on the side of the road.

The male was walking home when it appears he was assaulted by a group of three males, one of whom was driving an orange Honda dirtbike. The victim was struck by the dirtbike and then two males assaulted him with an unknown weapon and stole personal property. They then fled the scene.

The male on the dirtbike is described as an adult male with a muscular build. He was wearing shorts and had dark, curly hair down to his shoulders. One of the males who committed the assault had a star tattoo around his right eye with tear drops coming from it. There is no description of the third male involved.
