On August 24, 2024, at approximately 4:15 pm, Pembina Valley RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 30 and Provincial Road 421, located approximately three kilometres south of Altona.
The investigation has determined that a southbound pickup truck, being driven by an 80-year-old male from Altona, attempted to turn east onto Provincial Road 421 when he collided with a northbound semi-trailer, being driven by a 29-year-old male.
The 80-year-old was pronounced deceased on scene. The 29-year-old semi driver was not physically injured.
Pembina Valley RCMP continue to investigate.
