Parkland RCMP arrest pair on outstanding warrants in a stolen vehicle

On Jan. 26, 2024, officers with the Parkland RCMP and the Crime Reduction Unit were conducting patrols in Gunn, Alta., targeting property crime and repeat offenders. Officers located two individuals sleeping inside a stolen ford pickup truck with no licence plate attached.

This vehicle was reported as stolen out of Lac St. Anne County, Alta., in November 2023. Officers arrested the two occupants. Both suspects are known to police.

A 43-year-old individual, a resident of a Gunn, was arrested on five outstanding warrants out of Whitecourt, Alta., Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., and Stony Plain, Alta. The individual has been additionally charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a release order.

The 43-year-old individual has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 5, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain.

A 44-year-old individual, of no fixed address, was arrested on five outstanding warrants out of Stony Plain and Edmonton. The individual has additionally been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 and,
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a release order and Breaching Probation.

The 44-year-old individual has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 21, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain Court.
