The New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a 28-year-old man from Nova Scotia with possession of child pornography.

The investigation began in 2023 when police received information from Correctional Service Canada that they had seized a digital device from an inmate.

On February 14, 2024, members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant on the digital device that was found in the 28-year-old man's possession.

On October 2, 2024, 28-year-old Jeremy Christian Thompson was charged with possession of child pornography. He remains in custody on an unrelated matter, and will appear in Moncton Provincial Court on October 18, 2024.

The New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit includes members from the Saint John Police Force and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force. The RCMP's Digital Forensic Services Unit and Correctional Service Canada are assisting with the investigation.
