On July 4, 2024, at approximately 2:50 pm, Gypsumville RCMP received a report of threats being made towards another individual in the community.
The investigation uncovered that a 35-year-old male, who was prohibited from owning or possessing firearms, was currently in possession of several firearms in his residence, located on Memorial Crescent in Lake St Martin.
On July 5, 2024, officers conducted a traffic stop on Provincial Road 513 and arrested the 35-year-old male for Uttering Threats. Upon his search, officers located a small quantity of cocaine. He was held in custody.
Officers, along with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), then executed a search warrant, at a home on Memorial Crescent, where they located three firearms, ammunition, cash, a small quantity of drugs, pills and other drug-related paraphernalia.
Leonard Dorion, 35, was remanded into custody on numerous charges including Uttering Threats, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm x3 and other firearms-related offences.
Gypsumville RCMP continue to investigate.
