On March 14, 2024, the remains of Echer Marcial (34) were found on Range Road 55, near Clairmont. Following an autopsy, the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton has deemed the cause of death to be a homicide.
Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took carriage of the investigation, and have charged 37- year-old Grande Prairie, Alta. resident, David James Sietsma, also known as "Toothless," with the first-degree murder of Marcial.
Sietsma's whereabouts are currently unknown; although, he is believed to be in the Grande Prairie area.
