Grande Prairie RCMP investigating found human remains

On Oct. 21, 2024, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a report of found human remains in an undeveloped area situated north west of the city. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the discovery of an unidentified deceased female.

Grande Prairie RCMP General Investigation Section, in consultation with the RCMP Major Crimes Unit, has taken carriage of the investigation. An autopsy will be completed on Oct. 23, 2024, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.

At this time, RCMP is seeking assistance from anyone who may have dash camera footage captured on Oct. 21, 2024, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., on 116 Street, between 104 Avenue and 132 Avenue.
