On July 27, 2024, as part of an ongoing firearm investigation, Grand Rapids RCMP along with the Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Misipawistik Cree Nation.
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a firearm, ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
Donna Mercredi, 42, and Conrad Genaille, 33, have been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm when Knowing Possession is Unauthorized, Unsafe Storage of Firearms and Weapons Possession Contrary to Order.
They were remanded into custody.
Grand Rapids RCMP continue to investigate.
