On July 18, 2024, at 12:30 am, Fisher Branch RCMP received a report of two-vehicle collision involving an SUV and an ATV that occurred on Provincial Road 224, located in Peguis First Nation.
Officers have determined that an ATV, being driven by a 48-year-old male from Peguis First Nation, was heading southbound in the northbound lane when it collided head-on with a northbound SUV, being driven by a 24-year-old female from Peguis First Nation.
The 48-year-old was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The 24-year-old female driver, along with four other female passengers, were not physically injured.
The 24-year-old female driver was arrested on scene for Impaired Driving and transported back to the Fisher Branch RCMP Detachment where she provided samples of her breathe for analysis.
The 24-year-old remains in police custody.
