Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate homicide in Gleichen - Update
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit have laid charges in the reported April 24, 2024, homicide in Gleichen. RCMP have determined the victim to be 59-year-old Siksika Nation resident Clayton Redgun.
As a result of the investigation, on April 26, 2024, RCMP charged a 27-year-old individual, a resident of Siksika Nation, with second-degree murder.
The individual has been taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with a next court date set for April 29, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer, Alta.
Additionally, RCMP have obtained an arrest warrant for second-degree murder for a second suspect, Siksika Nation resident a 20-year-old individual. RCMP are asking for public assistance in locating the 20-year-old individual who is described as:
- Medium complexion
- 5 feet 10 inches tall
- Approximately 180 pounds
- Black hair
- Brown eye

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate homicide in Gleichen
On April 24, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Gleichen RCMP were contacted by EMS who indicated that they had responded to a call of an unresponsive male. Upon their arrival, the male was deceased and had injuries consistent with being assaulted. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit were called and have taken carriage of the investigation.
An autopsy was performed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary on April 25, 2024. The manner of death was deemed to be a homicide.
