Update: On July 25, 2024, Christopher Wilmot appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was sentenced to 51 days in jail, including a 45-day concurrent sentence, after receiving a remand credit of 129 days. He was also sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation with conditions, including no contact with the victim.

A 25-year-old man from Listuguj, Quebec, has been charged with assault with a weapon following a call for service in St Stephen.

On April 30, 2024 at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on Miltown Boulevard. A 25-year-old man was located and arrested.

A 40-year-old man suffered what were believed to be minor injuries, was transported to hospital, and has since been released.

25-year-old Christopher Wilmot appeared in court on May 1, 2024, and was charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Breach of condition

He was remanded into custody, and is scheduled to appear in Saint John Provincial Court on May 2, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing.
