22-year-old man arrested following assault on police officers, series of incidents

A 22-year-old man from Johnville, N.B., has been arrested following a series of incidents including assaulting police officers in the community.

On February 22, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., members of the Western Valley Region RCMP received a report of two suspicious vehicles at a residence in South Johnville.

Upon arrival, police saw the suspect jump in a vehicle, which then rammed a police car before fleeing at a high rate of speed. Police then followed the vehicle which eventually came to a stop. The driver then exited the vehicle but was quickly apprehended by police. No one was injured during this incident.

On February 28, Brandon Schriver appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court, and was charged with:

  • Assault on a police officer with a weapon
  • Operate a motor vehicle while prohibited
  • Possession of prohibited weapons
  • Flight from police
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Fail to comply with probation
  • Possession of stolen property over $5000

Brandon Schriver was remanded into custody, and is scheduled to appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
