21-year-old man dies following single-vehicle collision

A 21-year-old man from St-Margarets, N.B., has died following a single-vehicle collision involving a moose in Black River Bridge, N.B.

On May 20, 2024, shortly after 4 a.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP detachment responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a moose on Highway 11 in Black River Bridge. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Members of the Miramichi Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick also attended the scene. A member of the New Brunswick Coroner's Office attended the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the mans exact cause of death.

The highway was closed for several hours, and has since reopened.
