A 15-year-old boy, from Saint-Basile, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision in Rivière-Verte, N.B.
On June 13, 2024, at approximately 4:50 p.m., members of the Saint-Léonard RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a transport truck and a motocross, on Industrielle Road, in the community. The driver of the motocross was transported to hospital with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries, and later died as a result of his injuries.
The collision is believed to have occurred when the motocross and the transport truck collided on a remote part of the road.
Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, and Edmundston Fire Department attended the scene. An RCMP collision reconstructionist and the New Brunswick Coroner's Office are also assisting with the investigation.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
